Biography
Born out of a shared sense of rebellion and a refusal to go quietly into middle age, Brad, Ralf and Chris are ‘Them Noisy Neighbours’ – a loud, unapologetic antidote to the mid-life crisis. Playing only originals, they have carved out a sound that’s both nostalgic and fiercely current. In 2025, the band faced a tough year; losing their beloved bandmate Dave and seeing Martin move on, but the band has re-emerged as a power trio, tighter and louder than ever. With driving guitar riffs and punchy lyrics, they continue to prove that it’s never too late to turn up the volume.
Them Noisy Neighbours… a brief history
Started taking shape in late 2019, when founder member Brad decided to pick up the sticks of an unwanted drum kit which was bought for his sons. Friend and guitarist Ralf soon joined Brad in jamming sessions in his dusty barn. It was there, after a few beers, that forming a band would be the perfect antidote to their up coming mid-life crisis.
The hunt was soon on for fellow members. Singer Martin was scouted while getting noticed singing too loudly at the village Christmas light switch on (that’s Rock’n’Roll). Dave was known as an excellent drummer and sound engineer. Unfortunately for Dave the drummer position had been filled, so he chose to learn the bass.
All living in the same village in Cumbria, Them Noisy Neighbours were born. Initially happy just playing covers at local gigs, the Neighbours soon progressed on to writing and performing their own material. Their distinct sound of fast temp punk and rock takes a nod at the past while firmly being fixed in the present.
After home recording and producing a few tracks, they were thrilled when “Scapegoat” was played by BBC Introducing Cumbria in the summer of ’23. Unfortunately, shortly after, bass player Dave became unwell and couldn’t commit to gigging or regular rehearsals. The rest of the band continued writing new material and rehearsing, hoping Dave would recover so we could get back out there. Sadly, Dave passed away just before Christmas 2024, leaving a significant void in the band. Dave wanted the band to carry on, and his good friend Chris stepped in to take over on bass.
Singer Martin moved on from the band in June 2025, a change that was reached mutually, reflecting the respect and friendship in the band.
Them Noisy Neighbours’ next chapter has just started and look forward to sharing their new music with you in 2026!
